Tour of Two Rivers Opener

The Tour of Two Rivers series of races kicked off over the weekend at Griffith. Highlights for our club were Grant Pollard and Terry Halpin finishing 1st and 2nd respectivily in the D grade road race, whilst Mark Dunlop took out 4th place in C-grade in what was his first ever interclub scratch race. In Sunday's time trial, despite riding with just one lung Angus Harris broke the magical 40 km/h barrier. Full results here.

Barry Beats Buller

Well done to AWCC member Lisa Barry who took out the women’s A grade of the Mt Buller Road Race on Sunday. Lisa was very happy going two places better than last year. All looks good for Lisa as she rides in her second National Road Series season this year.

Edit: Read Lisa's blog about the race here.

National Champ!

Congratulations to AWCC member Glen Jarvis who yesterday won MC2 1000m time trail at the National Track Para-Cycling Championships at DISC, Melbourne. Winning in a time of 1:27.751 to gets over New South Wales’ Andrew Falconer (1:28.712). He victory was all the more impressive given the fact that Glen had to metal plates insert into faces after crashing at the Crits a few weeks ago. Awesome Victory Glen!

AWCC member Rhys Pollock has pulled off another big win, this time winning stage 1 of Jayco Herald Sun Tour. Seeing off the likes of current nation road champion Jack Bobridge, Rhys is now overall leader going into tomorrows stage 2 from Ballarat to Geelong. A great photo essay of today's stage can be find here.
